The fish in the pond are still swimming about but soon, they'll slow down as the weather grows cooler. We use heaters so the water never freezes solid and we keep the 'waterfall' running year round so they have sufficient oxygen. Eventually, we'll take out the water hyacynth - it's a warm weather plant - and cover the pond with netting.
This summer we had 15 + multi-colored baby fish (orange, yellow, black, silver and combos)! Not sure how this will work out but everyone is healthy and very active. Now if they would just stay still, I could count them!
The trees are starting to turn. This is one of the maples we planted last fall.
The sky is soooo blue today!
Below is the companion tree - it didn't fare too well! I have no idea what happened - the nursery said this just happens sometimes. They're coming to replace it in a few weeks. I chose a golden maple as a replacement. It will grow the same height and width but the leaves change yellow instead of scarlet. I think they'll look nice together.
Out in the distance I can see a few more trees putting on their autumn finery! Autumn amazes me!
Have a wonderful, beautiful Autumn day!
Hugs,
Lisa
