Three of our cats are black cats and Gracie is a black and white tux so I know for a fact that black cats are loving and sweet. Sadly, they're often overlooked by people looking to adopt a pet and are the most frequently euthanized.

Lots of Stuff to Catch Up On!

Once again I've fallen into that black hole of non-blogging also known as my life. Things have been busy but all is well and I hope the same is true of you and yours.

So here's a real brief update of things going on.

I'll be supporting a Black Cat Charity event with some prints of my art. If you're in the Chicago area, please check it out. The group, Virtually Home Chicago, is trying to increase awareness of black cats and dogs - the last to be adopted and the most frequently euthanized. Please, if you are considering adopting a pet, bring home a black one.

My art was published in Certain Circuits Magazine which is pretty cool since it's an artist run publication. You can find it here:

Black Cat and Canary Lunch Gritty Folk Art Painting

It snowed yesterday and our deck is filled with hungry birds at the feeders and 7 cats peering from behind the curtains. That scene is my inspiration for this painting but it's also a reminder of the damage outdoor cats can do to the songbird population. For the sake of the birds and for your own cats' safety, keep your house cats indoors, It's better for their health and better for nature in general. Today was a productive day!

For some reason, I got a lot done today. Four paintings on the easel. One still needs touch-up, two need to be photographed and this one, Senorita Margarita (a.k.a. I Need a Vacation Yesterday), is currently in my Etsy shop. Done with acrylics in bold strokes on a black gessoed gritty canvas. Is this not how to spell gessoed? Spell check is giving me a hard time with it. A few inches of snow and a very cold, wet, dreary day. This painting was a fun respite and has me thinking a lot about sunshine and warm days ahead.

Special Equestrians Art Auction and Wine Tasting!

If you're in the Bucks County, PA area and looking for something fun to do this weekend, be sure to check out the Special Equestrians Art Auction and Wine Tasting event at Rose Bank Winery in Newtown! It will be held on Saturday, 11/19.

I've donated these two oil paintings paintings to the auction because it's a wonderful cause. The Special Equestrians offer therapeutic riding to children and adults and the horses are amazing. I've had the opportunity to meet each and every one of these outstanding animals - they're gorgeous as well as gentle and sweet.

The auction will be featuring lots of Bucks County artists so come on by and support an excellent cause! You can find more about the auction on their website here.

These paintings are both originals. The Red Horse measures 12" x 12" and comes framed and the Woman and Crow measures a whopping 24" x 30" x 1.5".

New Art for the Halloween Queens Bootique and Other Stuff!

I'm in the box of shame for taking so long to post on my blog. Apologies all around!

It's autumn, my favorite time of year. The bad news is that it's a swampy, muggy 85 degrees and it's been raining for a month straight. The good news is that cooler weather should be coming in this weekend so hopefully, it'll put us all in a better frame of mind for the upcoming holidays. My daughter's birthday, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas - these are the special days I live for! I'm well, family is well, cats are simply grand - all is great. Now, I need to get back to painting. Summer has kept me busy and made me a bit jaded.

This blog thing has a new look - if you see a dropdown menu at the left, you can change the display for your viewing pleasure. It's a fun feature. I had no idea my art was so colorful - quite a punch when you choose snapshot or flipcard!

Black Cat Familiar Oil Painting

Black cats and autumn are two of my favorite things. This lovely black cat has a backdrop of textured red orange leaves against a purple night sky.

Painted with professional oil paints on a 6" x 8" x .75" oval gallery wrapped canvas. The sides are painted black and there's a hanging hook on back for immediate display. Sealed with archival UV resistant varnish and signed and dated.

Price: $65 plus actual shipping charges.

Poe Tribute Feral Art Quilt

I call my quilts feral because they're a bit untamed but constructed with great care in a traditional quilting manner. This one is a tribute to the legendary author, Edgar Alan Poe. The original painting in the center features some characters you may recall from his writings: a black cat, a raven, Annabel Lee and a Gold Bug. Lots of random stitching over fabric scraps of dupioni silk and cotton make up the background which is enhanced with antique buttons and other embellishments. The top and bottom are bordered with tiny black rosettes.

This quilt measures approximately 11" x 12" and hangs via a dowel pocket hand sewn on the back. Signed and dated.

Price: $70 plus actual shipping charges.

Hi there - hope all is well in your world!

It's been ages since I've blogged about anything yet so much has been going on. I blinked and summer is getting ready to bid us adieu. Can it be that Halloween is so incredibly close by? We have had a few crisp days post Irene and I swear I can smell the apples ripening on the trees.

I still need to post a shot of my cat canister from the pottery class - I'll get to that this week - it was so much fun. We had our wrap up dinner on the 13th under the full moon. It just seemed so fitting.

So, in the meantime, here are two ornaments that will be listed on the Queens Castle Bootique this week. Email me if you'd like more info.

One has three black cats with different colored eyes painted on a turned wood ornament. I love the red orange and black contrast - so VERY Halloween season.

Second piece is a hand sculpted crazy black cat ornament made using air dry clay over a wood ornament. Can't you tell he's looking for some mischief?

Hand Built Cat Canister

Not yet fired, but a lot of fun to make. I had posted this on FB previously but forgot to add here. When I go back to class Monday, this should be ready to be antiqued and glazed. It's slab built with carved details and a hand formed cat knob. Can't wait to see how it turns out. Keep your fingers crossed it doesn't explode or something when its fired - I have no ideas what danger may lurk in those kilns.

And yes I'm seriously considering making my own dinnerware. Custom cat mugs anyone?? ;) I'm also surprised to find professional potters with a dark side (ie Mark Burns) and some of you know how I've been longing to make a Halloween tea set. Maybe next year - anything can happen on this journey!

Time to Stretch! Hand Building Class Day #1

I started my pottery workshop today and am the only one with no handbuilding experience outside of a high school class in terra cotta but it was great!

Coffee, tea and fresh muffins awaited us in Lisa's studio barn in Doylestown, just 10 minutes from my home.

My personal objective was to get use to the medium which is unlike any air dry or polymer or epoxy clay and learn its capabilities. We had a choice of making a napkin holder or a crock for kitchen tools. I chose the napkin holder because it would function well for holding my pencils and because it was smaller - few opportunities for me to screw it up!

I learned about slab building, coils and texture and how to use my knives and a french roller. This is a real stretch for me and I'm loving it.

Here's my napkin holder so far. It still needs to be painted (slips??), fired, and who knows what else, so I'm hoping it morphs into something a bit prettier - a whole lot prettier would be even nicer!

After class we had a exercise session in the garden to release the tension in our necks from bending over. I'm way out of my comfort zone here but can't wait to get back to the studio tomorrow morning. Not sure where this road is going to take me but it's an intriguing journey so far.

New Black Cat and DOTD Halloween Folk Art!

June 1 (tomorrow already - can you believe it?) marks a new update to the Queens Castle Bootique and I have these two new pieces listed.

A Black Cat and his Jack o'Lantern under the full moon in a hand painted wood frame. Both the cat (which is also scanned below) and the frame are original paintings and I painted the frame specifically for this painting! Of course, my watermark won't appear on either. Measures 6" x 8" and you can display by standing or hanging.

Below is a scan without the glare from the glass in the frame. The painting is soooo cute!

And my first DEAD Cat Lady - a Day of the Dead Lady and her Cat Ornament. An original mini painting in acrylics sandwiched between glass in an antiqued copper frame. The colors in this image are dull compared to the original. Swarovski crystals accent the roses in her hair and it hangs from a black satin ribbon hanger with bright orange ribbon flowers.

Tiny Mermaids Art Doll Quarterly Feature!

As promised, here's the article. The magazine was scheduled to hit newstands yesterday. You'll find my tiny mermaids on pages 100-103. It was so easy working with Jana at ADQ. Have something interesting? I highly recommend you consider submitting it to one of the Stampington publications. They're real people and wonderful to work with. There are many outstanding doll artists in this magazine and tons of inspiration. What I like best about it is the variety of styles. ADQ doesn't stick to one type or medium so you're always sure to find something spectacular.

If you'd like the pattern for these dolls, I'm happy to email it to you at no charge. Just leave a comment or email me directly. It's a fun project to use up some of those scraps from your sewing table and I'm sure the kids will love helping you 'dress' your mermaids. All you need is some leftover pieces of fabric, fibers, glue, embellishments of your choice and paint for the facial features. I also submitted a faux crazy quilt which holds the dolls but there's no pattern for that - you can get the instructions from the magazine and give it a shot. It's one of those projects that can't go wrong.

Monday, April 25, 2011, Sammie's Vet Visit - Yikes!

Today was Sammie's vet appointment. She's one of the ferals I captured several years ago and although she's come a long way with her social skills, she's still NOT about to get into any kitty carrier and hates being held. I've been stressing about today all weekend. She's only 9 pounds but very muscular and loud. I had Jake set as my 'back-up' in case I failed to corral her - he's due for his visit too and all I need to 'capture' him is some catnip or a treat.

Imagine my surprise when Sammie jumped in the carrier on her own 15 minutes before we had to leave. I had been training her to get used to being put in the top door by placing treats inside and then picking her up and putting her in to get the treats. Today she simply jumped in and all I had to do was latch the top door and be on my way. We won't talk about the 40 minutes of howling each way. She got her shot and doesn't have to come back for another year. Bella, her sister, is due next month so I have a few weeks before I need to stress out again.

An 1800s Halloween Painting - the History of the Jack O'Lantern!

My daily post today is about a painting that will list on eBay tonight for a 5 day auction. While everyone is in Easter mode, I have a Halloween story for you that inspired this painting. Enjoy - and now it's back to baking for me!

Ah, the sweet images of Halloween that fill our heads and front yards come Autumn: black cats, dancing skeletons, creepy witches and of course, the wonderful glowing Jack O' Lantern. Jack can be menacing, friendly or just plain silly depending on the expression you choose to carve but come nightfall on October 31st, his gleaming face becomes a welcoming beacon to trick or treaters. Although it's true the Jack O'Lantern is a common sight on October evenings in the United States, 'Jack' is actually a fabrication of Celtic origins brought to this country by the Irish in the 1800s. Ireland's famines of 1820 and 1846 sent an estimated one million Irish immigrants to US shores. Not about to return to farming, most settled in cities where employment and churches were plentiful. And of course, they brought their traditions and culture with them including the dark Irish folk tale of Stingy Jack.

Stingy Jack was a miserly but quick witted drunkard. The devil, having heard of Jack's reputation decided to pay him a visit with full intent of bringing Jack's soul back to hell. When Jack encountered the devil on a lonely road that night, he knew his life was over and pleaded for one last drink. The devil could find no reason to deny this final request and off he and Jack headed to the nearest tavern. They drank all night and just before dawn, Jack attempted to stagger out, leaving the devil to pay their large bill. When the devil objected, Jack declared he had no money and suggested the devil turn himself into a silver coin which Jack would use the pay the bill. Once the bar keeper was asleep, the devil could turn back to his usual self and sneak out. Needless to say, the devil agreed this was a wonderful plan. However, once the devil turned himself into a silver coin, Jack shoved the coin into his pocket next to a crucifix rendering the devil powerless to return to his previous form. The devil was trapped and Jack seized the opportunity to strike a deal. He would release the devil as long as the devil didn't come for his soul for at least another year. The devil agreed and was freed from Jack's pocket.

Jack went on his way, cheating and drinking for another year, not realizing his soul's contract was about to expire, when one night the devil reappeared to finalize the deal. Jack agreed it was time to go but had a last request - an apple from the apple tree they stood under. Jack was too old and frail to climb the tree but it would be an easy task for his evil companion. The devil saw no harm in this request and slithered up the tree to get the apple. However once up there, the devil was unable to get down. Jack had carved the sign of the cross in the tree's trunk and its power held the devil captive in the treetop. Again, Jack struck a deal to which the devil reluctantly agreed - this time the devil was to never claim Jack's soul.

The devil went on his way and several years later, Jack died with a smile on his face confident that he would gain quick admittance to heaven because his soul could not be claimed by the devil. However because of his horrid lifestyle, Stingy Jack wasn't permitted to enter the gates of heaven. He quickly headed down to hell to see the devil. The devil, keeping the agreement made years earlier, would not admit Jack to hell. Jack, finding himself barred from both heaven and hell, realized he was destined to wander the cold darkness of the spirit world for eternity. He cried out to the devil to help him. The devil threw him a single ember of hellfire to light his way which burned Jack's hands and then started to fade. Quickly, Jack pulled a turnip from his pocket and carved a lantern to carry the burning ember through the darkness.

From then on, whenever townspeople saw flickering lights in the distance on Halloween night, they knew the wretched spirit of Stingy Jack was approaching. He was referred to as Jack of the Lantern and later as Jack O'Lantern. To protect themselves, the Irish would carve menacing faces in turnips, insert lit candles and place them in windows and in front of their homes to scare off the evil spirit of Stingy Jack and others of his kind.

When the Irish immigrants arrived in the US, they found the pumpkin, a native American fruit, made an ideal Jack O'Lantern and turnips were outmoded. Eventually, more and more Americans adopted the practice of carving and lighting a Jack O'Lantern for All Hallows as the enchantment and fun of Halloween began to spread throughout the country.

You might remember this guy from my previous posts.

Here's Hobbes, our cancer survivor! He had lymphosarcoma of the tongue - an inoperable tumor for which radiation wasn't an option. The oncologist said this was very rare so we started chemo with no outcome data, just hope and prayers. Sometimes that's all you need.

The Coke can is mine, not his. but it gives you an idea of his size. He is immense - but not fat - all muscle.

He's still in remission and up to 17 lbs.

Today is Good Friday. The sun rose and set the tops of the trees ablaze in red and orange. It almost looked like Fall! I saw a fox running around the yard but got so immersed in watching him/her, I neglected to take pictures.

But, I did get the deer playing in the field.

There were 5 of them in various sizes running back and forth. You can barely make two out behind the willow. I've found it's easier to see the deer by their reflection in the water.

I think that one's a mamma and her fawn. Wish I had the other camera - it has a better zoom lens.

Across...

and back again! They all took turns.

Now I'm back in the warm house again to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee.

It's nippy out this morning!

Bella's watching the birds at the feeder from the kitchen window while getting a drink from the faucet. She's multi-tasking.

Can't wait to open the pool - it looks so much nicer without the cover.

And a new Halloween Black Cat painting coming up!

I double gesso the canvas and draw the image on freehand with a Pitt brush marker.

No preliminary drawing - whatever happens, happens.

Of course, you know the saying - "s**t happens" which is why it's always good to have a lot of gesso on hand!

The drawing turned out fine (YAY!) and I chose my palette.

This one will be an oil painting. I'm blocking the colors in with alkyds. I only use these when I can open the windows because the fumes are pretty strong. I like this effect better than a base of acrylics.

I'm using a bit of Liquin too (more strong fumes) to enhance the drying.

Once the colors are all blocked, this baby is gonna hang out in the basement a few days.

And last but not least, one of the dolls you saw yesterday has her body parts attached. A step in the right direction but it's lunch time now and then back to another painting.

I want to paint a folksie landscape scene so I have some issues to ponder.

Daily Post for Thursday 4/21/2011

I'm going to try to post daily - just a few snapshots of my day, my life. Hope you enjoy and don't get too bored. Don't forget to check out my Etsy shop and eBay when you have time. I'm trying to get new stuff in both. Do you think it's too early for Halloween art? I'm in a fun mood today.

My worktable has a few Halloween dolls on it. The green fabric is the hand-dyed piece - remember when I told you I couldn't find the right shade of green fabric for a witch? Well, it turned out perfect. A nicely shaded piece of lime and yellow. Now i have to finish painting her face. Arms and legs would be nice too! The other head is done. I have some gorgeous mohair for the hair - a strawberry blond. Hopefully, these ladies will be done by the end of next week.

Here's Lulu watching me. It took her over a month to get the nerve to look out the window. Now she's a pro. My fountain to the right has a leak. Need to work on that today. This is my favorite spot for morning coffee - just to gather my thoughts after Jim leaves for work. The sun is just coming up and it looks like a nice day ahead.

Lulu adores her window seat! She's saying, "Get in here and feed me, mom!" Don't you love her orange copper eyes? They match her coat very nicely. She's gained two pounds already and her paws are almost all healed.

Lilacs are about to burst! One of my all time favorites. This bush is ahead of the others but I forget the type of lilac it is. I planted it from a bareroot 3 years ago and it just took off! The rest of the garden needs some major attention - maybe next week.

County Line School House Original Bucks County Folk Art

Not too far from my house stands an old one room schoolhouse. It's empty and very sad looking so I wanted to paint it in a happier time. I just put this on eBay with a buy it now for 7 days. It come framed and ready to hang. A wonderful gift for any teacher or Bucks County history buff. You can read my story about the painting on the listing under the photos. My Mermaid Dolls Featured in Art Doll Quarterly!

I'm thrilled to tell you that Art Doll Quarterly, a Stampington publication, will be featuring some of my tiny mermaid art dolls in their upcoming Spring 2011 edition (to be released in May). In the article, I'll tell you about my love of mermaids and how to make your own using materials you may already have on hand if you craft or sew. Plus, how to make a cute faux crazy quilt to store them in! It's a fun activity that even the kids can help with.

The ADQ article will be about Ava, Ella and Mia but in the meantime, their cousins, Gia and Leah, will be listed tonight on eBay. Less than 5" tall (yes, they're TINY) but full of details and color.

Lulu Update and Easterween Giveway!

Lulu has been with us a month now and is doing very well! She continues to be monitored by our vets for some medical issues. As a matter of fact, we were there 3 times this week alone. Needless to say, art production is on hold.

Have you ever tried single handedly putting a cat into a cat carrier three days in a row? With any of my others it would have been Mission Impossible. But Lulu's temperament is so sweet - despite a bit of fuss, I was able to get her in on the first try.

She had another exam, u/a, blood work and x-rays earlier in the week and an ultrasound yesterday. It appears she has a urinary tract infection but the vet wants to rule out the possibility of stones and the xrays were a bit fuzzy in one area. We are waiting for a final determination. They also are doing a culture on a urine specimen so we can use a targeted antibiotic since so many strains of bacteria are antibiotic resistant these days.

I noticed that her little paw pads are very cracked and discolored. The vet said this is due to the extreme weather she endured and a severe vitamin deficiency.

The vet estimates she's very young - maybe a year old - possibly two. Her teeth are in great shape. So for now she's on antibiotics and will continue to get her boosters. I am sooo glad I held on to all of the 'kitten toys' and old scratchers that our other cats got tired of - she's having a lot of fun playing in between stuffing her little face and napping.

I also wanted to let you know I opened my old Etsy shop again, Whimsyarts. You'll find links to both over on the right. Eventually, Whimsyarts will be mostly folk art for Halloween and holidays, ACEOs and prints. BucksCountyDesigns will be larger paintings, non-ACEO originals and dolls. The reason I did this is so that some of my larger pieces and oil paintings (which are in the works) won't get lost with the prints and ACEOs but it remains to be seen how it'll all turn out. Of course, it also remains to be seen how much I get done.

BTW, the AHQU will be having an Easterween Giveaway. Here's a photo of my donation to the Easter Basket filled with Halloween ornaments. I'll follow-up soon with info on how you can win!

Lulu's Debut as Little Red Riding Hood!

Told you you'd be seeing some orange cat art now that Lulu is part of our family. And here she is! Prints are available in my Etsy shop: BucksCountyDesigns

Lulu, the stray I found under my deck on Valentine's Day morning, is doing great. It took her two weeks to sit on the seat of a comfy chair rather than under it and she just started playing with toys yesterday. She loves sitting on my lap and being petted and her appetite is getting to a normal level rather than trying to down everything I put in front of her in 30 seconds. She still won't look out the windows under any circumstances even though one has a table in front of it and faces the garden. Time will tell.

Next month, she'll start socializing with her 6 siblings. That should be fun (NOT) although I have to admit, I'm getting pretty good at this sort of thing. The boys are getting restless now that we had a few nice days so we doubled our square footage by cleaning the basement and letting them go down there to play. It's a big hit - even our Miss Priss Gracie loves it. Hopefully the novelty doesn't wear off too soon.

Believe it or not, tomorrow is March 1st - the day for the new Queens' Bootique reveal. Time really is flying - before you know it, I'll be ranting about how hot it is outside!

Anyway, here's to the beginning of Halloween 2011. Halloween magnets! They're sealed original paintings on wood and are larger than those I did last year - each measures about 2" with a quarter inch thickness. and Lulu makes Seven!

On Valentine's Day morning before 7 a.m., I noticed the snow had melted enough for me to get to one of the solar lights outback that needed my attention. The cap had blown off a few days prior but a 3 foot wall of snow drifted all around it. As I headed out, something moved under the deck. I froze and my peripheral vision caught a small face. Yes, a cat. Do I have a sign on me or what?

I headed back to the house and grabbed a can of food. Out she came and devoured it in 30 seconds. And then four more cans. She was filthy, infested with fleas and very thin with a bloated belly. Suprisingly enough, she was incredibly affectionate and friendly kneeding the ground when I spoke to her and rolling at my feet.

I printed off a Spay and Save coupon and called an area vet who took her in the next day. She was spayed, had her initial FIV test (neg) and got her rabies shot. I brought her home and she's eating well and loves sleeping and rolling in her little bed. Someone spent a lot of time socializing her but, sadly, I suspect she was dumped. She loves being indoors and so far doesn't even want to look out the windows.

She has roundworms that we're medicating her for and I've gotten rid of most of the fleas and the fleadirt. I'm still trying to clean up her face and paws. In the meantime, she'll remain isolated from my other cats until her follow-up FIV and vet exam in March. We've named her Lulu and she's staying. I guess there's going to be a lot of orange cat art in my future. ;)

No Signs of Spring Yet...

Sounding a bit anxious, don't you think? It's only Feb 5th and here I am wishing for a Spring breeze and something green shooting from the ground even if it's a weed. Instead we have tons of grayish snow covered with ice. A day of misty freezing drizzle hasn't helped matters. Normally, our front entranceway looks fairly inviting but not so this week. 2 foot long icicle daggers threaten anyone who dares come forward. That is, if they can make it over our moat of rock hard slippery snow. Welcome to the land of the snow dragons!

Happy Candlemas, Happy Imbolc, Happy Spring! Groundhog Punxsutawney Phil predicts an Early Spring!

Phil has seen his shadow and Spring should be just around the corner. Hard to believe considering most of us in PA have a significant amount of snow on the ground that has been covered with a few inches of solid ice since last night. Our windows are so iced up, I can't even see out most.

Ahhh, Spring, please don't wait too long. I feel a serious case of SAD setting in!

Did you know that The Groundhog Day celebration is rooted in a German superstition? According to that superstition, if a hibernating animal casts a shadow on February 2nd (TODAY), the Christian holiday of Candlemas and the Pagan holiday of Imbolc, winter will last another six weeks. If no shadow was seen, legend said spring would come early.

So, Happy Candlemas, Happy Imbolc and happy early Spring...I hope!

I've taken some time this holiday season off to spend with family and friends, and to sketch out some new ideas but my blog is looking a tad dull so I thought I'd post a few photos of our snow. We were fortunate - I'd guess it's only about 8 inches. Although yesterday was still a bit wild with the wind, today is gorgeous and a great day to bundle up for a winter stroll.

Before the snow hit, I noticed the birds were unusually active at the feeders - always a sign of bad weather approaching. So, I put some extra feeding stations on the deck which is a bit out of the wind. Not only did the birds love it, but the cats have been non-stop bird watchers.

The snow is supposed to melt by the weekend so the time to enjoy is now.

The snow started falling on Sunday afternoon. It was very soft and pretty at first.

Mr. and Mrs. Claus began to slowly slump in their chairs as the weather intensified. Later I'd find them face down and buried in the snow - too much eggnog I think.

St. Francis watches over the garden. Not much action here this time of year. Later he would single handedly save my neighbor's motorcycle cover as it came flying across the yard in a 50 mph gust of wind.

Bella has never been this close to a bird, other than in her dreams. The food on the deck is about 6" from the doors. Either the birds don't see the cats, or they don't care.

The girls, Gracie, Bella and Sammie (hidden behind the circular part of the scratching post) are on bird guard duty while the boys (not in the photo), Calvin, Hobbes and Jake nap.

This is my view from the kitchen window as I prepare for Thanksgiving dinner tomorrow. Everything's in shades of gold and this tree is the icing on the cake. The pond's been very busy with the fox and deer lately. Living here is one of the many, many things I'm thankful for.

The Studio at Crow Haven Farm's Art Doll Show!

This weekend I had the great pleasure of visiting The Studio at Crow Haven's Farm (aka Michelle Rae Schafer) Art Doll Show at the Baum School of Art in Allentown. I had a doll expert with me (my 3 year old grand daughter) who gave all of the dolls a major THUMBS UP! Especially the ballerinas because they were wearing leg warmers (REAL ballerinas) just like she does!

Michelle's dolls are gorgeous - each with its own whimsical sense of style and personality. You become spellbound by the colors, the fabrics and the expressions, so much of their creator's spirit was in this room.

Many congrats on an outstanding show!

And, Michelle, I swear, we didn't touch ANY of the dolls as tempting as it was. ;)

Cats and Books - Life is Good! PFATT Marketplace Sneak Peek!

For those of us who enjoy cats, books and a spot of tea or coffee... You'll find this in my PFATT Marketplace shop on September 10th. It's a watercolor and ink painting in very bright, warm and happy colors. The mat is painted too! Framed in a lovely antique style black wood frame that measures roughly 17" x 14.5". This is on the heavy side due to the weight of the frame and glass and Priority shipping in the US is free.
